sunday night reward

we did lots of chores today, all the while jeff was smoking a brisket!
after our long day of work, this is what was waiting for us.

we moved around some furniture in the house today to make the "man cave" football season ready!
all we need now is a giant TV. jeff, you better get crackin, you've got one week before the first game!

and yes, that is ghee in the corner of the sofa. i couldn't even get the pillow in from the other room before he'd already staked his claim!

santa fe vacation

We headed to Santa Fe right after Lolla to visit my parents, escape the heat, and to catch some much needed zzzzs. We had a great visit: ate lots of great food, read books, hit the flea market, and caught up on our relaxing. We lucked out and the reeves/wrubel clan was all in town and got to spend a fun saturday night with them. yeah!

It was the 20th anniversary for Lollapalooza this year, and it was a BLAST!
The weather turned out great (even the rain for the Foos was fun!), and the line up this year was amazing! We even made time to catch a Yankees vs White Sox. FUN!

stuart's first birthday

Stuart turned one, and he had the most fun pizza party ever!
He loved wearing his hat, and he got this super cool bike.

We also had delicious white birthday cake! i hope all of his parties are this great!

ghee's new post

it is ridiculously hot out here in texas, like 109 and stuff. seriously, it's les mis.
ghee has found a new spot to stay cool, the neighbors fence ledge.

belinda and mike stopped by on their way to San Antonio, and we got to have breakfast with the kids. they are adorable, and we tried to convince them to stay with us instead of heading to sea world. no luck. those kids are cute AND smart!

aspen food & wine festival

Shelley and I traveled to the Aspen Classic to check it out since we are launching an Austin Food & Wine Festival next year in April. The weather was perfect, and the wine and food, well, pretty amazing.
